New Kingdom limestone Ostracon of an Owl, painted in red and black ink and executed with high skill and artistry. The Owl represents a Hieroglyph, transliterated as 'r'. On the reverse (reported on the Museum's web site) is a Uraeus, executed to an equally high standard.
