Ivory label of the tomb of King Den at Abydos, 1st Dynasty. Originally attached to a sandal; the reverse shows Den smiting an Asiatic tribesman. This scene's inscription says "The 1st occasion of smiting of the East". Behind Den is the name of In-Ka (probably a high official of the King). EA 55586.
