Marble statue of the
emperor Hadrian (AD 117-138) offering a sprig of laurel to
Apollo. From about AD 117-125 in the sanctuary of Apollo at
Cyrene in North Africa.
This is the only
portrait to survive from antiquity of a Roman emperor in
Greek Dress.
