The Ormside Bowl dating to the late 8th century. Made of gilt-bronze internally with a silver-gilt outer shell. It is one of the finest pieces of Anglo-Saxon metalwork in existence and it was buried in the churchyard at Ormside, possible to protect it from plundering Vikings.
