Bronze axe-heads dating to c.1500-1000 BC from the Hammersmith and Richmond areas of the River Thames (01198, 49.107/798). These axe-heads are also referred as Palstaves which is a bronze celt (an axe of stone or metal without perforations or grooves, for hafting) fitted into a split wooden handle. The Palstave was made possible by the advanced techniques in metal pouring and moulding.
