Lion of St Mark, 17th or 18th century. A guided winfed lion carved in wood and plaster, a sysbol of the evengelist St Mark and emblem of the Venetian City State. It was removed by British foces when they evacuated the Venetian fortress on Corfu in 1809. Tower of London, July-2005 103
